How much will it cost?
There's no charge if the issue is covered under warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law. If your issue isn’t covered, the price depends on the type of repair. If we can’t repair your iPod, you might need to replace it.

Do you have AppleCare+ ?
Your country or region offers AppleCare+ for iPhone. Benefits include:
- Accidental damage, with a service fee
- Battery (if capacity is less than 80 percent)
- Express Replacement Service
Out-of-warranty service
Repairs are considered out of warranty when:
- Your iPod is over one year old
- Your iPod has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications
We might be able to fix your iPod for an out-of-warranty fee. If we can’t fix it, you might have to replace it. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used Apple genuine parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements. Contact your service representative for details. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

Battery service
The Apple Limited Warranty covers a defective battery, but it doesn’t cover wear from normal use. We might need to test your iPod to find the cause of your battery issue.
If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it's covered by our warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, we'll replace it at no additional cost.
If you’re covered by AppleCare+ for your iPod touch and your battery can hold less than 80 percent of its original capacity, we'll service it at no charge.
If your battery service isn't covered by warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, we can service your iPod for a fee.

Screen repair
If your iPod screen is broken, we might be able to service it for an out-of-warranty fee. Accidental damage isn't covered by Apple Warranty. The cost to repair an accidentally damaged screen depends on your iPod model, any additional damage, and if you have AppleCare+ coverage. If your screen cracks due to a defect, it’s covered by Apple warranty and consumer law.
AppleCare+ for iPod touch includes up to two instances of accidental damage, each with a service fee. You can use an instance for screen repair. If you don’t have AppleCare+, we might be able to repair your broken screen for an out-of-warranty fee.
We'll run a diagnostic test to see if your iPod needs any other repairs. If it does, we'll let you know.
Apple accessories
The Apple-branded accessories that come in the box with your iPod, including the power adapter, are covered by our warranty and consumer law. They’re also covered by AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+. For service details, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
